My main clinical interests are Ultrasound, CT (Computed Tomography), PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) with a special focus on cancer imaging particularly breast, lung, colorectal and urogenital malignancies. I recently helped pioneer a new thermal memory metallic ureteric stent which has proved particularly useful in the management of patients with obstructed ureters caused by cancer.
In May 2004 I spent two weeks in the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, studying PET/CT. This is a new and unique imaging technique which combines metabolic and anatomical information. Prior to this I visited the University Hospital Zurich. In September 2004 I obtained my ARSAC license for PET studies. I now report on PET/CT scans performed at the Lodestone Imaging Centre Guildford, Surrey. This centre provides imaging for NHS patients from all over the country as well as private referrals.
